CAMP STAFF
Our goal is to keep our staff to student ratio at 1:9. This guarantees individual attention. The staff is what makes this camp so incredibly productive. We ask only the best at every level to assist us in making this a memorable week for you. Our staff range from professional coaches to current collegiate players. Here are just a few examples of our current staff members:
Mike Stone
Mike Stone has been the Assistant Varsity Coach and Head JV Coach at
MNU
since the 2004-2005 School Year. Before coming to MNU he served as an
Age
Group Director and Tournament Director for the Olathe Soccer Club; now
the
Kansas Rush. Prior to coming to Kansas City, Coach Stone was the Head
Men's
Soccer Coach for the Danville Area College Jaguars. He guided that
program
in its' inaugural year as a club program to its Intercollegiate NJCAA
status
in 2000.
Mike has worked with various clubs around the country
including the
Danville Soccer Association (IL), Greensboro Youth Soccer Association
(NC),
and the United Quest Soccer Club (GA) which is currently the Atlanta
Silverbacks. He was also an Assistant Coach at Capital University in
Columbus,OH. Coach Stone played at and graduated from Miami University
in
Oxford, Ohio. He then obtained his M.B.A. from Ohio State University.
Stone
has obtained 6 National Coaching Certificates including his USSF 'B'
and his
'Advanced National' from the NSCAA. Mike and his wife Debbie have a
daughter
Mike Dye
Mike Dye joined the Men's Soccer coaching staff as an Assistant Coach
and
Head Goalkeeper trainer in the 2006-2007 school year. Mike transferred
to
MNU from Johnson County CC after his freshman year and became the
starting
goalkeeper for the next three years. Mike was a standout goalkeeper for
the
Pioneers during his 3 year career. He left MNU with numerous honors
including; NAIA 3rd Team All-American, National Christian College
Athletic
Association (NCCAA) Honorable Mention (HM) All-American (2x), NAIA
All-Region, Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Defensive and
Overall MVP, 1st Team All-HAAC, NCCAA All-Region, and HM All-HAAC.
Mike graduated from MNU having set numerous goalkeeping records
including;
In 3 seasons he posted 26 career shutouts, a 1.04 career Goals Against
Average, and in the 2005 season he only had 15 goals scored on him.
Mike currently coaches for the KC Legends Soccer club and resides in
Olathe.
He is working on his Master's degree in counseling while helping the
Men's
soccer program. Rocky Orton
Rocky Orton is the Head Women's Coach at MidAmerica Nazarene University. He is in his 5th year at MNU. Coach Orton grew up playing soccer in Oklahoma and has played for 27 years, including 6 years professionally. He has coached High School girl's soccer and Premier soccer clubs for 17 years in Oklahoma and Kansas. Coach Orton currently coaches with the KC Legends Soccer club and has U11, U15, U16, and U18 girls teams. He holds an NSCAA National Diploma. Coach Orton graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University with a degree in Psychology, and went on to get a Graduate degree from Webster University in Counseling Psychology. He resides in Olathe with his wife, Marlo, and has 2 daughters, Kenedy and Shelby .
